Digital transformation  is the key to helping farmers produce quality agricultural products, at the lowest cost, but at the highest price. This is an important content that has just been launched in the online conference on digital transformation in the  field of agriculture  and rural development organized by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Ministry of Information and Communications.

Instead of “looking at the sky, watching the earth in the clouds”, digital farmers also look at data, instead of buying planting materials, they have to buy data to plan their planting accordingly. This is just one of the differences as the agriculture industry embarks on digital transformation.

According to a representative of the Ministry of Information and Communications, if you want to do this, you need a large enough database. The head of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development said that the current ambiguity of information will disrupt supply and demand in agricultural production.

With digital technology, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development Le Minh Hoan hopes that agriculture will be transparent in data and information.

Directly connecting producers with consumers via an electronic trading floor, eliminating intermediaries to help stabilize agricultural product prices and make them difficult to manipulate; collect data on agricultural product prices in the market, update prices with daily frequency… all but this is completely possible with digital technology.

The Ministry of Information and Communications is committed to supporting the successful digital transformation of the agricultural sector. The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development also set a target that 80% of agricultural databases will be built and updated on the basis of big data with contributions from organizations, individuals and communities.
